The families of teens lost after a devastating blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's ski resort are enduring an painful period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for any details about their family members via social media.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Circulated footage reveal the roof structure catching alight as bottles with fireworks are held aloft.

Authorities have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which claimed the lives of 40 people and hurt another over a hundred. A spokesperson stated on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with the process ongoing to name the remaining few.
