Speaking with media, she commented, “When Trump was first in office, I felt like I was moving hastily in a panicked state. But experience has shown, election after election, Hollywood stars do not make a difference whatsoever on voter decisions.”

She continued, “So then what am I doing? I’m just expressing personal views on a matter that’s going to add fuel to a fire dividing the nation apart.”

Changing Allegiances

Lawrence has admitted freely about backing Republican and Democratic presidential nominees throughout her life. Growing up with conservative Republicans in her home state, she supported John McCain in the 2008 election before joining the left-leaning politics and stating she recognized during President Obama’s term that voting Republican was voting against her individual liberties as a woman.

Earlier in her career, she stated that Donald Trump’s election might signal “a disaster” and publicly supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election. In the latest campaign, she gave her endorsement to Kamala Harris, “as I think she’s an excellent choice and I am confident that she will take all necessary steps to safeguard reproductive rights.”

“There was concern for my son,” she commented, “imagining every worst-case scenario, and then questioning everything that I was doing. I was receiving counseling, but I got on a drug called that medicine and I used it for a short period and it really helped.”

The actor also discussed of the empowering aspect of filming without clothes in the movie while she was expecting and limited physically.

“It’s refreshing,” she commented, about having to cast off vanity. “Honestly, I sometimes think where I’m like, What technically are the differences between my work and that profession? But it doesn’t trouble me deeply.”
