Kai Trump will have numerous prominent cheerleaders when she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to Donald Trump, received a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, possesses numerous golf courses and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He basically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, making him quite busy."
Being non-professional, the golfer has played in a mere three competitions recently and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
However she's able to get advice from golf legend, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He stands as the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He suggested me to compete, have fun, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against multiple the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Officials commented that her participation exposes golf to wider groups, particularly with the next generation.
